Former Liverpool star Danny Murphy has made a rallying call for striker Daniel Sturridge to be the focus for the England national team following his performance in the Premier League game against Chelsea.
Sturridge had helped Liverpool force Chelsea to a 1-1 draw at the Stamford Bridge. His performance was more eyes catching for all to see.
He has therefore been at the centre of praise from his teammates and the manager having scored four times for Liverpool this season.
The Liverpool legend feels the England national team can also benefit from the current form of the striker.
Giving reasons for his claim, he stated that the national team is already running short of strikers, citing Jamie Vardy as a player who is almost rounding up his national team career and Harry Kane who cannot be overburdened and needed support.
Murphy, therefore, stated that Sturridge has got all it takes to comfortably walk into the national team and fit in.
Meanwhile, Sturridge is considered as a backup striker at Anfield behind Salah and Sadio Mane but he has scored his 50th league goal in the red shirt.
Liverpool have been in great form this season and they currently sit second on the log.
