Burnley goalkeeper Nick Pope has been heavily linked with a move away from the club in recent times after emerging as a target for Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool.
Right now, there are reports the Merseysiders have run some checks on the 26-year-old and are planning to bring him over to Anfield this summer.
Nick caught the attention of many of us through his impressive performances for Burnley last season. He took cover for injured Tom Heaton from the beginning and was able to help his side finish on the seventh spot of the premier league table – after keeping 12 clean sheets all through the term.
His superb displays earned him a space in England’s World Cup squad – though as a reserve goalie.
At Anfield, manager Jurgen Klopp is still searching for a new goalkeeper before next season comes. His side have been linked with AS Roma’s Alisson Becker in recent times, but the Serie A side keeps making things difficult for everyone.
Roma are playing hardball over the Brazilian star and have slapped a huge fee on him, but Liverpool can spend just £13M to get Pope’s signature this summer.
The Mirror made it known that Nick is now Liverpool’s major target and are already taking necessary steps to secure his services ahead of the 2018/19 campaign.
