During the weekend, the premier league witnessed two exciting Derbies – The Manchester Derby and The Merseyside derby – and both were exciting.
While the Manchester Derby ended 2-1 in favour of City, Everton forced Liverpool to share points at Anfield.
As things stand now, Jurgen Klopp’s side are 16 points behind Pep Guardiola’s side, and are already ruled out of the race for the premier league trophy. Klopp must now focus on finishing in the top four again – like he did last term.
Now, as far Liverpool’s transfers are concerned, the German boss obviously needs to add more quality to his team by signing new players during the winter transfer window.
And there are new reports that he is planning to bring Uruguayan attacker Federico Martinez to Anfield.
The Sun made it known that the former Dortmund manager has entered the race to sign Martinez from Liverpool FC (at Uruguay).
The 21-year-old is a versatile talent who can operate effectively anywhere in the attacking third. Last term, he scored three times and provided six assists for his side.
It was added that the player could leave South America in January for just £5M.
But, shouldn’t Jurgen focus on signing new defenders?
Liverpool currently have one of the best attacks in the premier league, and even in Europe as a whole.
