According to reports, Liverpool are pressing ahead in their bid to land AS Roma shot-stopper Alisson, as it’s suggested early talks are underway.
The 25-year-old goalkeeper joined the Serie A club back in 2016, and he has gone on to cement himself as one of Europe’s top goalkeepers with his form this term.
He has produced a number of eye-catching and major saves for Roma, and that in turn should see the goalie keep his starting spot in the Brazil National team line-up for the FIFA World Cup in Russia.
It seems as though his good club form hasn’t gone without notice though, as Sky Sports suggest that Merseyside outfit Liverpool have started initial talks over a switch for the £62m-rated goalkeeper, although Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid are tipped as probable competition.
Notwithstanding, it will arguably delightful for Reds supporters to see that manager Jurgen Klopp is looking to solve the problem in that specific department of his squad in the summer.
With neither Simon Mignolet nor Loris Karius convincing as both goalie’s have been guilty of making expensive errors over the last couple of months and beyond, the goalkeeping situation can be identified as a weak point for Liverpool.
