Five-time European champions Liverpool are reportedly in a three-way battle for Portuguese international midfielder Andre Gomes.
Gomes, 25, is on a season-long loan deal at Everton from Barcelona at the moment.
According to the publication from popular English news outlet Teamtalk, Liverpool have joined Everton and top four rivals Tottenham Hotspur in the race to sign the Portuguese midfielder.
Andre Gomes’ football career had been on a downward spiral at Spanish La Liga giants Barcelona whom he joined after helping Portugal win the 2016 European Championships in France.
He has been able to rescue his career in the Premier League having joined Everton on the last day of this summer’s transfer window.
The midfielder signed for the Merseyside giants alongside former Barcelona teammates Yerry Mina on deadline day.
Gomes missed the first eight games of the new Premier League season with an injury and has been hugely impressive since he returned from the long spell on the sidelines.
The player has featured for the Toffees in the last eight Premier League games.
He completed 90 minutes in seven of those eight games.
Liverpool would be hoping to beat rivals Everton to his signature with the aforementioned report claiming that a £25m transfer fee will be enough to secure his signing from Barcelona.
