Five-time European champions Liverpool will surprisingly make a £15m bid for Brighton and Hove Albion midfielder Pascal Gross when the winter transfer market reopens in the next few weeks.
This is according to the publication from popular English news outlet Daily Mirror which claimed that the Reds see the German playmaker as a cheaper option to French World Cup winner Nabil Fekir.
The Lyon star came close to joining Liverpool during this summer’s transfer window only for the Merseyside giants to pull out of the deal due to concerns over the possible reoccurrence of the previous knee injury sustained by the player.
Liverpool had earlier agreed to a £53m transfer for the 25-year-old before the move fell through.
The Reds are now targeting Gross as his replacement.
Pascal Gross signed for Brighton last summer from German outfit Ingolstadt for just £3m and went on to become a key player for the Seagulls who escaped relegation from the Premier League under the watchful eyes of Chris Hughton.
He scored seven goals and also provided eight assists for Brighton in 37 games in all competitions last season.
The player has been disturbed by various injury problems in the new campaign and he has been restricted to just nine appearances.
