Five-time European champions Liverpool are planning to strengthen the first team in the left-back position amidst reports that present backup option Alberto Moreno might leave the club later this year.
The Daily Express say that the Reds are eyeing Lloyd Kelly as a backup option for first choice left-back Andy Robertson.
Scottish international skipper Robertson became the undisputed first choice at left-back last season following his transfer from English Championship side Hull City.
The aforementioned Moreno was formerly the first choice left-back but the Spaniard is not dependable.
Alberto Moreno has six months left on the five-year contract that he signed when he joined Liverpool from Spanish La Liga giants Sevilla in the summer of 2014.
He has been a subject of interest from clubs like North London giants Arsenal, Spanish La Liga champions Barcelona, reigning Europa League finalists Marseille and former club Sevilla.
The Spanish international player has been able to make one start in this season’s Premier League and that was when Andy Robertson was rested during the 4-1 victory over Welsh side Cardiff City at Anfield.
His place could be taken by Lloyd Kelly who plays for English Championship side Bristol City.
The England U-21 international has impressed for Bristol City in the Championship this term.
