Liverpool defender Virgil Van Dijk is sure that the Reds deserve to win trophies as they continue to chase honours in two competitions namely the Premier League and the Champions League.

The Merseysiders have not won a trophy since winning the 2012 Capital One Cup title under the guidance of then manager Kenny Dalglish.

King Kenny as he’s fondly called is a legend at the club after an illustrious playing career for the Reds.

Van Dijk and Liverpool would be hoping to put an end to a seven-year trophy drought by winning either the Premier League title or the Champions League title or both.

Dutch international Van Dijk told The Premier League Show that Liverpool deserve to win trophies as he reinforced his belief of winning trophies with Liverpool.

Virgil Van Dijk has been one of the signings of the last decade at Liverpool following his impact on the team since his big-money move from fellow Premier League club Southampton last year.

He became the most expensive defender in world football after Liverpool paid £75m for his transfer in January 2018.

Van Dijk is widely regarded as the favourites to win the PFA Player of the Year.

Liverpool are just one point behind Manchester City on the Premier League table with nine league games to go while they face German champions Bayern Munich in Germany for the second leg of their last 16 ties in the Champions League after the first leg ended goallessly.
