According to new reports that concerns Liverpool, the Merseyside club have agreed to a new deal worth some whopping £160million. Hey, this ain’t a deal with another club for a player…
It’s a new 4-year shirt sponsorship deal with Standard Chartered Bank!
The deal is a renewal of the current one and will now expire in 2023. The City AM made it known that the Anfield club will earn £40million each year, while the deal runs
Liverpool have enjoyed a good relationship with the bank, earning £30million each year on the existing deal, but will now see a £10million-a-year increase after signing the new agreement.
Our Opinion
From all indication, things are getting back on track for Liverpool. Of course, things will only get much better for the Anfield club as they continue to compete across Europe.
The new agreement made with Standard Chartered Bank is a club record as far as Liverpool is concerned. They can now comfortably boast of being in the category of the ‘English clubs commercial big boys’
They’ve matched the £40million per year deal Chelsea signed with Yokohama Tyres of Japan some months back, and the deal Arsenal agreed with the Emirates recently.
