Liverpool 5-1 Arsenal: Firmino, Mane and Salah made Arsenal look easy to beat

Prior to tonight’s Premier League game, we talked on how dangerous Liverpool attackers could be, considering their confidence level and form with which they’ve been playing since the start of the season.

Their attacking prowess was obviously seen at the Anfield stadium where they thrashed the Gunners and made Unai Emery’s men look too simple and easy to defeat.

ARSENAL OPENED THE SCORELINE

11 minutes into the game, the Gunners opened the scoreline as Maitland-Niles put the ball into Becker’s net after a great pass from Alex Iwobi.

When we thought we’ve finally seen the team capable of making the Reds lose their invincibility, Unai Emery’s men began to take their feet off the pedal.

They gave Liverpool’s deadly attackers much time and space to cause many damages but they were very lucky not to get punished in the 12th minute as Salah’s shot couldn’t hit the target

FIRMINO EQUALIZED AND ALSO PUT THE REDS AHEAD

Three minutes after conceding, Liverpool equalized via Roberto Firmino after a wonderful team move involving Mane, Salah and the goalscorer Firmino.

RAIN OF GOALS AT ANFIELD

The Brazilian’s goal was all the home side needed to open the floodgates of goals at Anfield. The 27-year-old striker was at it again as he put the Reds ahead with another stunning goal — his second of the night.

The Gunners tried all they could to level the scoreline before halftime but things went from bad to worse for the away side.

Senegalese striker, who had a very eventful night, scored the Reds third goal of the night as he was put through on goal by Mohammed Salah in the 32nd minute of the game.

Despite scoring three goals just after the half-hour mark, Jurgen Klopp’s men were not done yet. They pushed forward in search of more goals and their efforts paid off in the stoppage time.

Salah was brought down by Sokratis in the 18-yard box and the centre referee had no option but to award a penalty kick.

The Egyptian stepped up to take the resulting penalty and he put the ball past helpless Bernd Leno.

The first half saw the Reds come from behind to register a convincing 4-1 lead against the Gunners.

SECOND HALF BEGINS

The Reds started the second half in the way they ended the first period of the game, though, the Gunners were a bit organized and more composed at the back.

THREE GOALS FOR THE MAN OF THE MATCH

Firmino scored his first hat-trick of the season when he coolly converted from the spot in the 65th minute.

His goal gave the Reds a 4-goal lead and it equally has the Reds a nine-point lead at the top of the table prior to Manchester City’s clash with Southampton at the St Mary’s Stadium later tomorrow
