Leicester City vs. Chelsea: Here’s How Conte’s men Might Line Up Against Foxes – Morata Could Start

Chelsea, had a disastrous Matchday 1, as they were beaten by minnows FC Burnley at Stamford Bridge. The summer transfer window too was not remarkable for Chelsea manager Antonio Conte who failed to sign a number of transfer targets.

The Reigning Champions, however, signed a few players despite missing out on several targets. They successfully secured a deal for Alvaro Morata who has been impressive early into the season with goals and assists and perfectly replaced Diego Costa – the Spaniard who has been exiled by Antonio Conte.

Germany international Antonio Rudiger, is settling down at the Bridge quickly after his transfer from Serie A giant AS Roma. Chelsea also signed former Manchester City goal keeper Willy Caballero on a free.

French youngster Tiemoue Bakayoko, Davide Zappacosta and Englishman Danny Drinkwater, where the other summer signings.

Despite their loss to Burnley, on the opening weekend, the Blues regrouped superbly against Tottenham and Everton where they won successively.

Chelsea’s previous visit to the King Power Stadium in January was one-sided for Conte’s men, who humiliated Leicester 3-0 and dethroned the then defending Premier League champions.

The Blues will be boosted by the possible return of Belgium international Eden Hazard who has recovered well from his injury and is thought to make the squad this weekend.

Captain Gary Cahill is suspended for this tie, after his red card within 15 minutes into the new English Premier League season, during their League encounter against the Clarets.

Summer signings defender Antonio Rudiger and striker Alvaro Morata are both expected to have a nod in Conte’s starting line up.

Italian Zappacosta and England international Danny Drinkwater, the two transfer deadline day signings, are also expected to make the matchday squad, especially former Leicester City midfielder Drinkwater, who might be allowed to feature against his former side.

Willy Caballero, Belgian Eden Hazard, Andreas Christensen, Tiemoue Bakayoko, Zappacosta, Batshuayi and Drinkwater are favoured to be part of the travelling party that might be utilized from the substitute bench when needed.

Italian tactician Antonio Conte is not expected to make any notable changes to his starting lineup that defeated Everton by 2-0.
