Arsenal center-half Laurent Koscielny plans to head back to his former side Lorient before he puts a stop to his playing career, according to the president of the club Loic Fery.
The France international defender has been a major performer for Arsenal since he joined from French side Lorient to the Emirates in 2010, going on to play 300 matches for the North London club.
Still, the gunners may be unable to keep Koscielny forever, with the defender apparently planning on spending one more stint in the French League instead of ending his career in Arsenal.
‘Koscielny informed me [Loic fery] last week in the City of London that he wanted to end his playing career at French side Lorient,’ Loic Fery, informed Canal+ Sport, as interpreted by Goal.
He said he hopes the defender has a few more seasons playing at Arsenal.
Fans of the north London club would love to see a little more of the 32-year-old, who has become a fan favourite at the Emirates stadium for his spirited and committed performances in defence and the ability to burst forward and score goals occasionally.
The solid defender has grabbed 22 goals for the North London club since signing for the club – a good record for someone whose main role is preventing goals at his own half of the pitch.
