According to reports, Spanish La Liga giants are keen on signing Francis Coquelin from North London giants Arsenal.
As per a report by the Daily Mail, the France international midfielder is ready to leave the Emirates Stadium and the La Liga side has emerged as possible suitors.
The Frenchman has found regular first-team opportunity hard to come by this campaign and after a long spell with Arsenal, it looks like he could close to an exit in the near future.
The 26-year-old is thought to be a transfer target for London rivals West Ham this New Year but it seems as though the English Premier League side is not the only side keen on the former France U-21 international.
Coquelin has somewhat flattered to deceive since coming into limelight for the Gunners some years ago. Although the player has shown some signs of top quality during his playing time with the North London club, he has not really fulfilled his true potential.
West Ham United are also stated in the news report to be interested in Coquelin’s teammate Egyptian Mohamed Elneny, who is also in the same situate as the Frenchman at Arsenal.
Francis Coquelin is undoubtedly nearing an Arsenal exit. He was shockingly unused in the Emirates FA Cup third-round defeat to Nottingham Forest, a match that much expected him to start.
