Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp is feeling the pressure of dealing with Barcelona superstar Lionel Messi ahead of their Champions League meeting on Wednesday night.
Klopp and Liverpool will face Messi and co at the Nou Camp for what’s the first leg of their Champions League semifinal tie before the second leg meeting billed for Anfield on Tuesday.
Ahead of the first leg clash between the two teams, Klopp told reporters about the threat of Messi in his pre-match press conference.
The German tactician mentioned that the Barcelona skipper talked about winning the Champions League at the start of the season and his Liverpool side stands in the way of the Argentine whom he described as the greatest player ever.
Klopp jokingly said that the admission from Messi about winning the Champions League this season is a threat and that Liverpool also want to secure a second successive spot in the final having been beaten by Real Madrid in their final clash last season via a 3-1 win.
Lionel Messi and Barcelona have been eliminated in the last three years at the quarterfinal stage and the Blaugrana skipper is keen to correct that by winning the trophy for his team for the first time in four years.
The last triumph came during the 2014/15 season when Barcelona beat Italian champions Juventus 3-1 in their final clash.
