Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp is staying modest despite receiving high praise from Bayern Munich and German national team legend Franz Beckenbeur also known as ‘Der Kaiser’.
Franz Beckenbauer played with distinction for Bayern Munich and was a key player for the Germany team that won the 1974 FIFA World Cup tournament on home soil before managing his country to victory at the 1990 FIFA World Cup tournament in Italy.
Der Kaiser praised Jurgen Klopp as he identified the German tactician as the man to revive the fortunes of German champions Bayern Munich.
Franz Beckenbauer spoke about the 51-year-old manager after his Liverpool side dumped Bayern Munich out of the Champions League at the last 16 stage.
In his response ahead of the Reds’ Premier League clash at Fulham, Jurgen Klopp told reporters that he’s not feeling the pressure after the praise from Der Kaiser.
He reiterated his desire to stay at Liverpool for the long haul though he was quick to point out that receiving praise from Franz Beckenbaeur could be likened to a man being knighted by a knight.
Klopp revealed that he has been friends with Der Kaiser for 14 years.
