Celtic left-back Kieran Tierney has snubbed Arsenal offer to remain in Scotland after talks with manager, Brendan Rodgers.
The 19-year-old has been a standout figure at Celtic, drawing interest from several clubs in the Premier League with Arsenal and Manchester United believed to be at the forefront of the pursuit.
Tierney has netted two goals in thirty appearances for the Scottish giants as they won the Scottish league and was rewarded with PFA Scotland and SFWA Young Player of the Year awards.
Reports in the Daily Record claimed that the Gunners were preparing a £10million for the defender with Manchester United to contend with.
But the left-back has revealed that he changed his mind after a short chat with Brendan Rodgers who convinced him to remain at Celtic Park.
Tierney said: “It’s always flattering to hear other clubs are interested but I had no doubt in my mind I wanted to stay.
“The club could have brought in anybody as manager and I would have stayed but after speaking to Brendan I knew something special was happening.
“The way he spoke to me for 10 minutes after the first day at training was brilliant. That has continued all year.”
However, reports in the Daily Record have it that Manchester United are still keen on luring Tierney to the Old Trafford this summer.
