According to reports, West Brom are still willing to sign Kieran Gibbs after they were speculated to have dropped their interest, but the full back will have to lower his wage demands.
As per the Mirror, West Bromwich Albion manager, Tony Pulis, is still interested in signing Gibbs this summer transfer window.
However, the defender may have to compromise on his alleged £80k-weekly wage demands.
West Brom were formerly favourites to sign the 27-year-old defender, but reports claim they have dropped their interest.
Watford stepped up their bid, and were believed to be in advanced negotiations over a transfer for Gibbs but they also recently shut the move.
Although it was previously claimed that it was Gibb’s £16m valuation that had put Watford off, it was later claimed that it was the Englishman’s wage demands that had been the real problem, as the Hornets could not pay him £80k-weekly, and he was thought to have refused to lower them.
Gibbs now has under a year remaining on his current Arsenal contract, so if Arsenal doesn’t offload him this summer transfer window after he played just 11 Premier League matches last season, he’ll go for free next summer.
