Chelsea manager Antonio Conte and Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho have been clashing with words throughout the season. But right now, the Portuguese tactician is the one receiving the blames for instigating the tug of words.
Last week, the former Real Madrid manager appeared to throw a dig towards Conte for blaming his side’s unpleasant results on their current injury crisis.
The former Italy head coach hit back at Mourinho, suggesting the Portuguese was simply ‘obsessed’ by Chelsea.
Jose was sacked from Stamford Bridge two years ago after winning the Premier League title in the previous season.
However, making comments about the recent situations, former Liverpool star Jamie Redknapp says the Manchester United boss should put his feud with Antonio to one side and should put all attention on catching leaders Manchester City.
Speaking to the Daily Mail, Jamie suggests Jose is wasting too much energy in picking issues with other managers and that he doesn’t need to go that path.
“He [Mourinho] doesn’t need to do this” Redknapp said.
Mourinho’s unbeaten run came to an end during the weekend when Huddersfield Town beat them 2-1 at the John Smith’s Stadium.
The former Inter Milan boss will have to put asides all issues to concentrate on the EFL Cup game against Swansea City on Tuesday, before hosting Mauricio Pochettino’s Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday at Old Trafford.
