Why Jose Mourinho is meeting Ed Woodward

It has been revealed that Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho will be meeting with the club’s executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward in order to discuss on the coming transfer window.

The Portuguese manager is reported to be interested in knowing how much the cub are willing to spend in the January window so as to know what step to take.

The meeting which was initially arranged for last week was cancelled and has to be done this week at United’s Carrington training ground before their Saturday’s game against Bournemouth.

With speculations emerged that the sum of £100 million has been set aside for the January transfer dealings, the truth of the report will be made bare to the Portuguese manager who is also expected to make his grievances known to the management.

Mourinho had before the season expressed his frustration at the inability of the club to secure some defensive additions to the team predicting that the Old Trafford side will have a difficult season.

The prediction has come to past as the Red Devils recorded one of the worst starts in their history this season, losing a total of four Premier League games in 10 matches.

There is no doubt that United will be actively involved in subsequent windows with the January transfer marker inclusive.
