Former Liverpool star Jamie Redknapp has advised the managing crew at Manchester United to encourage Victor Lindelof after his unpleasant performances at Huddersfield last Saturday.
Lindelof was blamed for one of the goals scored by the home side, and he put in a nervous display at the backside after coming on for the injured Phil Jones.
Club manager Jose Mourinho blasted his players after the defeat that ended his unbeaten run this season, with Victor getting some serious criticism from fans and pundits.
The 23-year-old arrived Old Trafford from Benfica this summer, and Jamie feels the player need more time to adapt to the English league.
In the Daily Mail, the former England star believes Lindelof will feel so terrible after the blunder that led to both Huddersfield goals, and it is now important that Man United managers work closely with him this week to help him restore his confidence.
Redknapp also drew attention to what happened to Henrikh Mkhitaryan last season, as he concludes that Lindelof may not yet be ready for the Premier League and should be given time to adapt and develop.
At the start of last season, Armenia international Henrikh Mkhitaryan was kept out of the starting XI by the manager as the Portuguese tactician insisted the player needed to be fitter.
Mkhitaryan was eventually given his chance, and he is now a regular in the club.
