Arsenal winger Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is in doubt for his side’s London Derby clash with Crystal Palace on the 1st of January following the injury he sustained in the last league game against Manchester City, however the club is quietly hopeful that he would be fit for the game Ginst Palace.
The 67-year old boss of the North London club Arsene Wenger had earlier revealed that the former Southampton player copped a muscular injury during his post-match press conference immediately after the Manchester City game.
Oxlade-Chamberlain, who is an England international, was substituted 13 minutes after coming in as a substitute himself with Mohamed Elneny taking his place during the game.
As reported by the London Evening Standard he would surely miss Monday’s league game against West Brom at the Emirates Stadium but his expected to play his part in the club’s festive fixtures with clashes against Crystal Palace and Bournemouth by the side.
He has now joined other injured Arsenal players like Skhrodan Mustafi and Santi Cazorla on the sidelines. For Mustafi, who has enjoyed a formidable centre back partnership with Laurent Koscielny, he should also be back in the first games in New Year while Spanish playmaker Santi Cazorla is a long term absentee following surgery on his troublesome Achilles problem.
