According to a report on Sky Sports on Monday, North London giants Arsenal will only consider signing more players once they have sold some of the current players at manager Arsene Wenger’s disposal.
So far this summer transfer window, only Sead Kolasinac, and Alexandre Lacazette have arrived from Schalke and Lyon respectively at the Emirates Stadium, with Kolasinac signing on a free transfer from the German club.
Though the two players look to be quality long-term signings for the North London club, Arsenal supporters have understandably called for more signings over the coming weeks, to ensure they regain their UEFA Champions League status for the 2018/19 season, having lost out of a place in this year’s edition for the first time in recent years.
However, as per the above report from renowned British media outfit Sky, new players will not be brought to the Emirates Stadium until some of the current squad members deemed expendable in the London club have been sold.
Players like Kieran Gibbs, Jack Wilshere, Lucas Perez, and Carl Jenkinson have been linked with Arsenal departure already this summer, with Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger having confirmed on Sunday that the number of senior players -33, currently at his disposal will need to be trim down:
