Jorginho (Napoli – Chelsea)
The player was closer to joining Manchester City after reports claimed that he has agreed on personal terms with the Etihad outfits.
Many British media even went a step further by reporting that Pep Guardiola met with Jorginho and he was optimistic about the player’s signature.
With some days left to Jorginho’s medical at the Etihad stadium, Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri moved swiftly to block the deal from pushing through.
Considering the relationship that existed between the two parties during their time at Napoli, Sarri surprisingly convinced Jorginho to join the Blues despite his initial promise to Pep Guardiola.
The West London club successfully captured the player from Napoli as they release £51.3m to the Naples compared to City’s £50m offer.
His move to Chelsea has been a very successful one so far. His importance to Sarri’s men cannot be overemphasized.
Though his addition to the team is — in one way or another — affecting N’Golo Kante’s performance as the Frenchman is moved to an unfamiliar position, the 26-year-old is being awesome for the club. RATING : 7/10
Kepa Arrizabalaga (Athletico Bilbao – Chelsea)
The 24-year-old goalkeeper is brought to Stamford Bridge as Thibaut Courtois replacement during the summer window.
It is safe to say the former Athletico Bilbao man has seamlessly replaced the Belgian star who is now Real Madrid’s first-choice goalkeeper.
His reflex and ball distribution ability have been his strongest point. He has looked great so far this season. RATING 7/10
Xherdan Shaqiri (Stoke City – Liverpool)
After Stoke City’s relegation to the Championship at the end of 2017-18 season, the Swiss became a free agent as he didn’t go down with the Britannia stadium outfits.
He eventually completed his move to Liverpool in August to become the club’s third summer signing.
He didn’t feature in the first four matches played by the Reds in all competitions but he gradually found his way into Klopp’s starting lineup.
He’s been in fine form for the Reds and he’s arguably the best summer signing in the League so far this season. RATING 8/10
Alisson Becker ( Roma – Liverpool)
With the uncertainty surrounding error-prone goalkeeper Loris Karius during the summer window, Jurgen Klopp desperately sealed a big-money deal with Serie A club Roma for the Brazilian in July.
Bar his mistake against Manchester United which led to Lingard’s goal in their 3-1 victory some days back, the 26-year-old been rock-solid between the sticks for the team.
His understanding with his defenders is one of its kind and that could be seen in the number of goals he’s conceded in the League.
Alisson has kept 11 clean sheets and has conceded just 7 goals. He has definitely justified the mammoth price paid by Liverpool for his signature. RATING 8/10
