How these summer signings have performed in their respective clubs — 1

English Premier League has entered its second period of the season and we are set for another 18 round of matches which will ultimately determine who wins the League glory.

Let’s quickly cast our minds back to the summer transfer window and see how some players — who made high-profile switch from one club to another — performed in the opening half of the 2018-19 season.

This rating is based on each player’s performances and his influence on the overall result of his team so far in the outgoing season.

See the list below :

Naby Keita ( Leipzig to Liverpool)

The Guinean star has blown hot and cold since his move to the Anfield stadium. After passing through rigorous process to get his signature, Jurgen Klopp and the club’s supporters were expecting much from him but the former RB Leipzig man has failed to deliver.

Though he showed some glimpse of brilliance in his early days at Anfield, it wasn’t enough to rate him higher than below average.

He needs to improve in his performance, else, he will be released by the club earlier than expected. RATING : 5/10

Fred ( Shaktar Donetsk – Manchester United)

His wonderful showings for Ukrainian Champions Shakhtar Donetsk in 2017/18 season prompted Mourinho into releasing a huge amount of money which is said to be £53m for Brazil in the summer.

Fred was initially given the nod by former manager José Mourinho to start the first two matches of the season but he failed to impress.

His performances in the two games were nothing close to his market value, hence, the Portuguese manager didn’t hesitate to drop him to the bench in subsequent games.

At some point, Mourinho couldn’t condone his dwindled form as he often ignores the player while making his team list.

Let’s hope Solskjaer’s presence at Old Trafford help bring out the best from the 24-year-old midfielder before the end of the season. RATING 4/10

Fabinho (Monaco – Liverpool)

The former Monaco man was one of the brightest stars in French Ligue 1 during 2017/18 campaign.

His scintillating displays for Monaco caught Jurgen Klopp’s attention and the German manager completed a move for his signature.

His switch to the Merseyside club is yet to serve its purposes as the Brazilian midfielder has failed to nail down a permanent spot in Klopp’s starting XI.

He hardly scores goals and his overall performance has got many wondering how could the club spend so much on his signature.

One goal in 10 League games is far from what we all expect from him and he must up his game in the closing half of the season. RATING : 4/10
