United midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan hailed Jose Mourinho’s game changing triple substitutions following their clash with Liverpool on Sunday afternoon.
Manchester United were struggling with a goal down against Liverpool, prompting Mourinho to replaced the subdued Michael Carrick at half-time.
After 65 minutes too, the Portuguese coach brought on Juan Mata for Anthony Martial and when it was 15 minutes to go, sent Marouane Fellaini into the strike force at the expense of left-back Matteo Darmian.
Fellaini played a huge role in Man United’s late equaliser from Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
However, Mkhitaryan didn’t single out Fellaini only as the only one who injected new life into the Reds.
“Not only Fellaini but also Wayne Rooney and Juan Mata put freshness in the team,” Mkhitaryan told MUTV.
The Armenian believed the trio helped the squad a lot up front and they were happy that the trio could change something in the game.
“We are happy to have them coming on.” he confessed.
Even though Liverpool has put a hold to Man United’s nine-match winning run, Mkhitaryan is now focused on them starting again against Stoke City on Saturday.
“We just have to win, try to win our next game. We are not looking for records, we are doing our best to be [in] the top four and to do that you just have to win games,” he added.
He isn’t concentrating much about records because, according to him, ‘one day they will break’. They are just trying to do their job by winning every game.
