Arsenal striker Lucas Perez has claimed that Hector Bellerin will remain at Emirates despite speculation over a move to Barcelona.
The defender has been tipped to return to his boyhood club this summer with reports that Barca have started efforts to bring the full-back to the Camp Nou as he is seen as viable replacement for Dani Alves who left the club for Juventus.
Barcelona is understood to be keen on landing a new right-back as they have not been impressed with the performances of Aleix Vidal and Sergio Roberto at the position this season.
But Lucas Perez who also joined the Gunners this season from the La Liga, has insisted that Bellerin remain at the Emirates this summer amid interest from Barca.
He said according to IBTimes: “In the world of football you never know what can happen, but he has just signed a new deal and I think he will continue in London because he is very happy here, he has been here many years, his family lives with him and he is happy at Arsenal. Furthermore, he is a player with a long future ahead at the club. I do not think that he is going to leave but it is clear that not every day Barcelona knocks on your door. It will be very difficult [for him to leave Arsenal].”
