Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has revealed what his team must do to retain their Premier League (PL) title ahead of rivals Liverpool.

The former Barcelona and Bayern Munich manager talked about the title race during his post-match press conference after Manchester City beat relegation-threatened Cardiff City at home.

The Citizens beat Cardiff City 2-0 to return to the Premier League summit.

Guardiola told reporters that Manchester City will have to win all their remaining six games for them to win the Premier League title.

He was quick to point out that his side can afford to drop points in their final six games of this Premier League campaign.

Manchester City got their goals through Kevin De Bruyne and Leroy Sane in the first half of their Premier League meeting with Cardiff City.

It was their eighth win in a row in the Premier League.

The Cardiff City win took Manchester City ahead of Liverpool with six games to play for both teams.

With Manchester City in FA Cup action this weekend, Liverpool can move back to the Premier League summit if they bear Southampton in their second league meeting this season.

Both teams meet on Friday with the Reds chasing top spot while Southampton will be looking to move clear of the relegation zone.
