German national team coach, Joachim Low has replied Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp after claiming the UEFA Nations League is “senseless”.
Klopp had made such claim when he lamented that his players had a stressful two-week fixture and had to fly to their respective countries for international assignment instead of resting as they will be returning to another week of tough matches.
Low who defended the decision, thinks the Liverpool boss is only selfish in his claim.
The German national team coach admits that club managers hate to see international break because they always want to have their players around.
According to him, coaches only protest because they don’t have the opportunity to have normal training sections because a bulk of their players are away.
Low said he welcomes the introduction of the Nations League which replaces the traditional international friendless because it gives every national team manager to have a test of all big European countries.
It is more so a preparation for bigger competitions in addition to the fact that they are playing for something.
Klopp is of the opinion that players need to get refreshed ahead of games and must not be faced with burdensome fixtures.
The German manager is in line for the Premier League title and he thinks his bid can be affected if his players are not in good shape.
