According to former Man United player Gary Neville, Jose Mourinho has to ensure he turn 90% of last season’s home draws into wins so as to have a realistic view at the Premier League title.
The former United defender thinks it will be something too big to desire his old club to even get back into the top four after finishing sixth last season, but he believes Jose will be aiming for the trophy.
The Old Trafford club haven’t won the Premier League title since Sir Alex Ferguson’s final season in charge back in the 2012/13 season, but Gary is of the opinion that if Mourinho can improve his home form, it could be a major step.
The red devils are known to be strong at home, but were able to win just eight home matches last season, drawing ten home games including against little sides.
And Gary speaking to MUTV recently, said:‘If you look at the drawn games at Old Trafford last season and convert maybe 90 per cent of those into wins, then United would have been challenging for the title,’
‘If you look at the drawn games at Old Trafford last season and convert maybe 90 percent of those into wins, then United would have been challenging for the title,’
‘If they can do that this year, then I think the title will come back to Manchester.
Manchester United finished sixth on the Premier League table last season but qualified for the Champions League after winning the Europa League at Stockholm.
