Chelsea legend turn Derby County coach, Frank Lampard will return to Stamford Bridge tonight at the opposition dugout in a club he spent 13 years.
Coach Frank Lampard defeated Man Utd in the third round of the Carabao Cup and hopes to repeat the same tonight at Stamford Bridge.
However, the former Blues vice-captain has disclosed that even if his side come out victorious he wouldn’t celebrate at Stamford Bridge.
He hinted that he would remain calm out of respect for the club that gave him the chance to become a star.
Frank Lampard in a statement said, as Derby County’s manager ‘I will be respectful because I have to appreciate what the club did for me.’
The legend disclosed he feels proud and honoured to return to a place he ‘called home for 13 years and still feels like home.’
He, however, disclosed that Derby County is his ‘working home now.’
Frank Lampard also ruled out the possibilities of taking up a coaching job at Chelsea for now.
The Rams coach in a statement told the Daily Telegraph that he doesn’t ‘see anything beyond playing Chelsea,’ because after tonight’s match he will shift his concentration to the weekend game against Birmingham.
