4 goals in 3 matches: Sarri has no option, he must start this player

France international Olivier Giroud came under intense criticism from fans for not scoring goals at some point this season. It was speculated that the Frenchman’s lack of goals was responsible for Sarri’s decision to leave him on the bench, even when Alvaro Morata is not anyway better.

After many tantrums and undeserved criticisms, the 32-year-old has returned back to his best form, banging in goals from different angles.

In his last three matches, Giroud has scored four wonderful goals to silence his critics.

The world cup winner scored a very vital goal against BATE in the Europa League competition. His goal was enough to secure Sarri’s team a place in the knockout stage of the competition.

Giroud found the back of the net against Tottenham last weekend to make it two goals in two matches.

In last night’s Europa League clash against PAOK, Chelsea won by a four-goal margin, no thanks to Yevhen Khacheridi’s red card.

The Frenchman was given the nod to start ahead of Morata, and he didn’t disappoint.

He scored a brace to send Sarri another quick reminder of his quality.

The technique with which he scored his second goal of the night emphasized the fact that he’s in form and he’s ready to start more games.

Having seen Giroud’s recent goalscoring prowess, Sarri has no option but to give the former Arsenal striker a benefit of doubt by starting him in more Premier League fixtures.

Morata has been less effective as the leading striker, hence, it is time to drop him and give Giroud the opportunity he so much deserves.

Morata’s claim to retain his place in the team after an anonymous display against Tottenham, Spanish international Alvaro Morata was dropped to the bench by Sarri ahead of yesterday’s game.

Despite coming into the game in the second half, the former Real Madrid star managed to score a goal which will go a long way to influence Sarri’s decision on who will lead the attacking line against Fulham on Saturday.

Callum Hudson-Odoi also scored a goal to back up his claim for a place in the manager’s first XI against Fulham.

The youngster is surely a great prospect for the future, however, he should be getting quality game time at Stamford Bridge to bolster his confidence level.

Though his goal may not be enough to see him start ahead of Morata and Giroud, he is definitely at the right path to becoming a great player for the Blues.

It is left to be seen if Morata’s one goal is enough to beat Giroud’s two goals in the race to becoming Sarri’s undisputed front man
