According to reports, Arsenal are considering a move to land Chris Smalling from Premier League giants Manchester United in the summer.
The Daily Star is that Arsenal are keen on signing the 28-year-old defender as the French tactician looks to further reinforce his defensive options in the summer transfer window.
The same report suggests the north London outfit would have to pay a transfer fee of about £25million if they desire to be successful in luring the Red Devils to offload.
The report says that Arsene Wenger is a fan of the Manchester United defender as they ponder a transfer approach this summer.
The Gunners are thought to be in the transfer market in search of defensive reinforcements after having failed to strengthen their defence in the winter transfer window.
The same article says that the Gunners are likely to make a transfer move for Jonny Evans from West Bromwich Albion this summer transfer window, but England international Chris Smalling many now also be an alternative for the north London outfit.
Meanwhile, the Gunners are currently getting prepared for the return leg of their UEFA Europa League last 32-round against Ostersunds at The Emirates Stadium on Thursday, having won the first leg fixture 3-0 last week.
