The summer transfer window is fast approaching while the upcoming campaign will be starting very soon. It is expected that football clubs will begin rounding up their deals in the transfer market and start putting their attentions to the upcoming season.
Manchester United have been linked with Chelsea defensive midfielder Nemanja Matic for much of this summer, but it appears a deal for him won’t materialise this summer.
And reports in Belgium now says the Old Trafford club will send a scout to watch Anderlecht midfielder Leander Dendoncker on Friday.
Belgian news outlet De Morgen claim a representative from the red devils will be present for Anderlecht’s opening game of the new season against Antwerp.
It was however added that reps from AC Milan and RB Leipzig will also be in attendance.
It is understood that Dendoncker is high on Mourinho’s priority list, as a deal for Matic might not see the light of the day. Unfortunately, Anderlecht are said to be keen to keep hold of the midfielder by penning a £34 Million tag on him.
The 22-year-old met with Man United last term in the Europa League and helped Anderlecht held Jose Mourinho’s side to a 1-1 draw at home.
Last month, Leander was asked about reported interests from Man United and Chelsea, and he didn’t rule out a switch to England, saying: ‘Those are nice clubs. We will see.’
