Liverpool are now 20 points behind league leaders Manchester City in the premier league, and it is obvious they can’t catch up with Pep Guardiola’s side again this season.
Jurgen Klopp has a shaky defense with not-too-good goalkeepers. He made the mistake of not signing new top defenders as well as a good goalkeeper during the past summer transfer window.
Liverpool signed Karius last year to become the first-choice goalkeeper at the club, but he is simply not good enough.
Klopp ousted him from the starting XI and he brought back Mignolet – who was superb in the final stages of the previous campaign.
This season, however, Mignolet’s mistakes in-between the sticks have cost the reds a lot, and manager Jurgen Klopp must solve everything once and for all by signing a new talented shot-stopper.
And according to new reports, PSG goalkeeper Kelvin Trapp is likely to leave Paris in January in search of regular first team football.
In November, Kelvin publicly made known his admiration for Liverpool and suggests he would love to work with Jurgen Klopp -who he tagged ‘a very good coach’
And recent reports about him also suggest the German boss could actually sign Trapp and give him the chance to impress at Anfield.
Kelvin’s current contract at PSG is meant to expire in 2020, and it is understood the French club will demand around €15M for his signature.
