Derby County defender Fikayo Tomori has revealed that he wants to stay at the club beyond this summer despite the fact that the Rams were unable to secure a spot in the Premier League (PL).
Fikayo Tomori and Derby were beaten to the Premier League promotion spot by Aston Villa earlier this week via a 2-1 defeat in the Championship Playoff final.
In a chat with BBC Sports, Fikayo Tomori was frank in his response to the question about his long-term future at Derby County.
Fikayo Tomori signed for the Rams on a season-long loan deal from Premier League giants Chelsea at the start of the season and he has impressed a great deal in the colours of Derby County this season.
The 21-year-old scored two goals and also weighed in with one assist in his 54 appearances for the Rams in this campaign.
The Nigerian-born centre back is expected to return to Chelsea this summer at the end of his Derby County loan deal.
His future at Chelsea is in doubt at the moment though the young defender could still stay at Stamford Bridge largely because of the transfer ban hanging over the head of the club.
The West London giants have been slapped with a two-window transfer ban by world football’s governing body FIFA though the Premier League giants have submitted an appeal to the Court of Arbitration for Sports (CAS).
