The summer transfer window is fast approaching, and one of the players linked with Chelsea is Swansea City striker Fernando Llorente.
The former Juventus striker reveals he held talks with Chelsea boss Antonio Conte last January about the possibilities of moving to Stamford Bridge.
Conte was looking towards bolstering his attacking options by utilising the past winter transfer window, but he couldn’t achieve success luring the 32-year-old danger-man from Swansea.
The striker played a role helping the Swans avoid relegation this term with his 15 Premier League goals.
Speaking ahead of the upcoming summer transfer window, the talented striker reveals that he spoke on the phone with Antonio Conte last January about the idea of coming over to Chelsea, but he rejected the offer.
Llorente, who worked together with Conte back then at Juventus, states that he blocked the transfer then because Swansea were in a crucial period (trying to avoid relegation) and even if he should want to make the switch, the club won’t allow him go.
However, the veteran forward added that he remains open to the possibility of joining the west London club this summer despite that he still has a year of contract remaining at Swansea.
Antonio Conte will lead Chelsea back into the Champions League and he will utilise the summer transfer window to add more quality to his squad.
