Ferguson gives reason why we should not be surprise of United’s crisis

The 2018/2019 season for Manchester United will definitely be one to remember because of the crisis incarnate that it will be known for.

It all started with Jose Mourinho complain of not given the needed signatures to compete favourably in the season and he had predicted a difficult season for United. This allegedly transformed to a rift between himself and the club’s executive vice-chairman, Ed Woodward.

When the season finally started, it was all about the bust-up between the Portuguese manager and the World Cup winner Paul Pogba, a situation that is yet to end.

Just after their first win, the Jose Mourinho men lost two consecutive games and now suffered an embarrassing home defeat in the Carabao Cup.

This entirety put together has caused unrest in the United’s dressing room with the Pogba, Mourinho rift making it far from being over.

A light has been thrown to the words of Manchester United legendary manager, Alex Ferguson who had made statements in the past that should have been taken more seriously by the club.

“Pogba signed for Juventus a long time ago as far as we’re aware” Ferguson told MUTV at the time of Pogba’s controversial Old Trafford exit.

“Its a bit disappointing because I don’t think he showed us any respect at all. To be honest, if they carry on that way, I’m quite happy that he’s away from me, anyway.”

In his book, Leading, which was written in 2015, Ferguson said:

“there are one or two football agents I simply do not like and Mino Raiola, Paul Pogba’s agent, is one of them.

From his statements above, United obviously made the wrong choice to have brought back Pogba from Juventus especially now that it is clear he has no respect for the club.
