Everton are on the verge of signing Sunderland goalkeeper Jordan Pickford, according to reports.
The 22-year-old keeper has been a standout performer for the Black Cats despite their failure this season which had led them to relegation from the Premier League after a 1-0 defeat in hands of Bournemouth last weekend.
Reports in Northern Echo claims that Arsenal, Manchester City and Liverpool are queuing for Pickford’s signature but the Toffees have now moved ahead of their bigger rivals and will now sign the goalkeeper.
It is understood that Sunderland are ready to cash in on Pickford due to their relegation from the top tier and are now resigned to the idea of losing their shot-stopper.
There are suggestions that the Black Cats want £20million for the keeper but Everton are confident on landing their man for a lower price due to the financial situation of Sunderland after their relegation to the English Championship.
Everton boss Ronald Koeman is believed to be keen on signing a new goalkeeper this summer and has made Pickford one of his major targets and will triple his current wages in a bid to lure to the Goodison Park next season.
However, the young goalkeeper could fancy a move to a bigger club if the likes of Manchester City, Liverpool or Arsenal make serious offer for him.
