Everton boss Ronald Koeman admits a deal for Manchester United midfielder Juan Mata is possible.
The Spaniard’s future at Old Trafford is in doubt following the arrival of Jose Mourinho and when asked by fans, whilst signing autographs, whether a move for Mata was on the cards, Koeman replied: “Yes, it is possible.”
The 28-year-old attacking midfielder has been heavily linked with a move to Everton and reports in Spain on Friday suggested that the Toffees were in pole position .
The arrival of Henrikh Mkhitaryan has no doubt shunted Mata down the pecking order of Old Trafford, now managed by the man who sold Mata from Chelsea.
Reports earlier this week suggested that Everton had tabled a £20million offer for Mata, who played under Koeman during his first season as a Valencia player.
