More Man United legends are making efforts to return to the club to pick up various roles after the success of former striker Ole Gunnar Solskjaer as the manager of the club.
The latest to be linked with a return is legendary goalkeeper Edwin van der Sar who claims he would be opened to a move back to the club any time in the future.
Edwin van der Sar seems to be eyeing the role of a director of football at the Old Trafford which he currently occupies at Ajax.
However, the Red Devils are seeking to have a restructured team ahead of the coming season. The decision was made after former manager Jose Mourinho was sacked as they now hope to have a more organized structure that will supervise transfer dealings.
It would be recalled that the former Portuguese boss had clashes with the club’s executive vice-chairman over transfer dealings before he parted ways and that scenario would be corrected as soon as possible with a new director of football.
There is no doubt that Edwin van der Sar would be considered for the role as a result of his relationship with the club but there are fears that Ajax will not be willing to let him leave.
