Belgium international Eden Hazard had a promising match for Chelsea’s Under-23 side against Everton on Friday.
Winger Eden Hazard continued his return from an ankle problem by playing for 75 minutes as Chelsea’s development team 3-0 to Everton in Premier League 2 match on Friday.
Hazard had a penalty claim snubbed in the first half of the game and an excellent shot saved in the second half before being replaced towards the end of the match by Jacob Maddox when his team was two goals down.
Chelsea boss Antonio Conte was at the match venue for the game in Aldershot, having earlier expressed shock to see the Belgian called up to the Belgium National Football squad despite not being fit enough for Chelsea’s first team.
Eden Hazard is yet to play for Chelsea this term due to a broken ankle suffered while representing his National team in June.
Hazard, 26, though, was called up by Belgium coach Roberto Martinez for the FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Gibraltar and former Euro Champions Greece and will now be expected to join the national team and be examined by Belgium’s medical team.
Eden Hazard featured in behind closed doors friendly game against QPR last week and furthered his effort to regain full match fitness with Friday’s lively performance against Everton.
Italian tactician Antonio Conte is not considering the winger for the first-team’s Premier League fixture against Everton at Stamford Bridge on Sunday.
