Manchester United executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward has reportedly stepped down his earlier decision to appoint a technical director for for the club.
The position of the technical director at the Old Trafford has been vacant for a while but with reports coming from Daily mail, it could remain vacant until further notice.
Paul Mitchell and Juventus’ Fabio Paratici have all being linked to the role at the club but with latest decision, they might need to hold on a little more.
With plans already on board to reshape the club’s structure, it is reported that Woodward has decided to appoint someone within to take up the role as the Red Devils are making efforts to shape the structure of their team.
It has been revealed that a lot of senior club officials are interested in having the role and they might be considered once a restructuring begins, pending on intense consultations and interviews.
Following the rift between manager Jose Mourinho and Woodward on the recruitment of players in the summer, the club then decided to restructure in order to place roles that will ensure the decision of having players lies in a scout and not solely on the manager or the executive vice-chairman.
