Done deal : former Arsenal star joins West Ham, even United join Matthijs De Ligt’s race

Former Arsenal striker Samir Nasri is the first player to be signed in the newly opened transfer market as West Ham United confirmed his signature earlier today.

The 31-year-old spent three years with the Gunners (2008-2011) before he switched from North London to Manchester where he linked up with Manuel Pellegrini’s Manchester City for £25m.

West Ham have not been too good at the final third of the pitch and their manager Pellegrini believes his reunion with the Frenchman will bring more goals and fluidity to the attacking department.

Nasri was one of Arsenal’s deadly strikers during his days at the Emirates stadium and the was loved by the Gunners faithfuls.

He won two Premier League trophies with the Citizens before heading to Turkish super Lig where he teamed up with Antalyaspor during the 2017-18 season.

Having observed his 18-month ban by FIFA after being tested positive to hard substances, Nasri will be hoping to return back to his best so as to help the Hammers avoid relegation.

United JOIN THE RACE FOR YOUNGSTER’S SIGNATURE

Manchester United Vice-chairman Ed Woodward has reportedly joined Manchester City and Bayern Munich in the race for Holland’s centre-back Matthijs De Ligt.

The youngster has been a standout star in Ajax so far this season and he’s being tracked by host of European clubs.

It is said that Pep Guardiola is targeting a move for his services while Bayern Munich are looking to strengthen their squad by adding him to their defensive setup.

According to BBC Sports, United are willing to release £52m for the player as they hope to beat the former Premier League Champions to his signature.
