Arsenal defender Calum Chambers has agreed to a new deal at the North London club, the English Premier League side have announced.
Defender pen new deal
Calum, 23, played 24 matches for the side last term and has been offered a new deal ahead of the coming season.
The youngster will be hoping to impress newly appointed boss Unai Emery with some outstanding displays during pre-season training as he fights for a starting shirt in the Gunners defence, with the newly appointed tactician glad to have the England youngster in his squad.
The defender moved to the North London outfit from Premier League side Southampton back in the summer of 2014.
Chambers ready to fight for Shirt
Chambers spent the 2016-17 campaign on loan at relegated Middlesbrough but was unable to help them avoid going back down to the English Championship.
Last summer window he was strongly linked with a transfer move to Leicester City but stayed back at the Emirates Stadium and played a notable part in the club’s run to the UEFA Europa League last four under former boss Arsene Wenger.
The young defender, who can also play as a right-back like he did under French boss Wenger, will be battling against the likes of Shkodran Mustafi, Laurent Koscielny, Konstantinos Mavropanos and latest summer signing Sokratis Papastathopoulos for a spot in Unai Emery’s backline.
