Liverpool striker Dominic Solanke is poised to snub a loan transfer to Premier League side Crystal Palace in favour of a move to Schalke 04 according to widespread media reports.
Earlier reports had claimed that the Nigerian-born English striker is on the verge of joining the Eagles with some of them saying that he has already undergone his medicals ahead of a short-term loan deal until the end of the season.
German newspaper SportBild has revealed a different story entirely which says that the 21-year-old wants to snub a loan move to Selhurst Park in favour of a loan transfer to Champions League campaigners and German Bundesliga giants Schalke 04.
The German club had earlier been linked with a transfer for the former Chelsea striker but it seems like the Germans have stepped up their interest in the player.
A loan move is the solution to Dominic Solanke’s lack of first-team opportunities at Liverpool whom he joined from rivals Chelsea at the start of last season.
He has not featured for Liverpool at all this season.
This is in stark contrast to last season when he made 27 appearances in all competitions, including 21 Premier League appearances.
The tall striker managed to score once for Liverpool last season.
