Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri has reportedly shown his desire to work with USA prodigy Christian Pulisic before the end of the current campaign and he’s told his employers to launch a move for his signature.
The youngster has failed to nail down a permanent spot in the team this season and he is now seeking a move to Premier League.
Interestingly, Maurizio Sarri is impressed with the youngster’s quality, he now wants him to feature in his team as Morata’s replacement.
The 20-year-old has fallen down the pecking order at Wesftaladion, no thanks to a blistering form of England’s sensation Jadon Sancho. However, his current lack of game time won’t have any negative impact on how Sarri values him.
But shouldn’t that be a cause of worry for Sarri? It is believed that a player, especially young one, gets better as long as long as he plays frequently.
Pulisic hasn’t started any Bundesliga match since September and that’s certainly going to have a negative impact on his confidence level and his overall performance whether Sarri like it or not.
No game-time, no problem!
Sarri isn’t perturbed with the player’s lack of first-team action as he is convinced of his qualities and his ability to score goals.
Sarri could be right anyway, the youngster was lively against Monaco in midweek Champions League encounter.
He was given a rare start by Lucien Favre and he grabbed the opportunity with both hands. Pulisic crowned his brilliant display with two assists as he assisted two of Raphael Guerreiro’s goals.
His magical performance during the night was a confirmation that nothing has changed with quality and Chelsea are making the right decision to chase after his signature.
The good news, however, is that Liverpool are no longer interested in his services. The Reds were initially in the race to capture his signature during the summer transfer window but the BVB were unwilling to let go of their star player for a little price tag.
With Shaqiri’s wonderful display since his switch to the Anfield outfits, Jurgen Klopp has withdrawn from his ambition to reunite with the youngster he tutored during his days with the Die Borussen.
Nonetheless, the Blues still need to slug it out with Paris St-German for Pulisic’s services. The French Ligue 1 gaints are more than willing to spend big on the youngster as Thomas Tuchel is still not satisfied with his attacking prowess.
Despite possessing Neymar, Mbappe, Di Maria, Cavani at the final third of the pitch, the PSG manager is still keen on adding the youngster into his team in January.
It remains unknown if Chelsea are willing to meet Dortmund’s asking price of £70 million on the youngster’s signature.
