An ex Liverpool player Steve Nicol has cautioned Chelsea against the signing of Bayern Munich defender Mats Hummels.
The former Red Star, Nicol is a pundit with popular media outlet ESPN and he talked about the German defender while he was on the platform.
According to him, the 30-year-old would be a bad signing for the Blues.
Steve Nicol further stated that Mats Hummels would find it hard to adapt to the Premier League and that his pace has suffered in recent months.
His major issues with Hummels moving to the Premier League has to do with his speed/pace and how he will survive in it.
Chelsea have been linked with a possible move for the 2014 FIFA World Cup winner after he fell out of favour with Bayern Munich manager Niko Kovac.
Mats Hummels was dropped from the Bayern Munich starting XI before the end of the first half of the season in Germany and that has led to talks of a move away from the club for him.
He has been a regular fixture in the Bayern Munich team since signing for Bavarian giants from Der Klassiker rivals Borussia Dortmund in 2016.
Mats Hummels has made 98 appearances for his club in all competitions and also helped Bayern Munich win two successive league titles.
