“Why can’t a Catalan coach the Spanish national team?” Del Bosque told the Sueddeutsche Zeitung newspaper. “It would be great if such a move pulled Spain and Catalunya back together.
“[Guardiola] is hands down the best coach in the world.
“The titles he has won and the courage he showed by accepting the Bayern Munich position without being fluent in German backs his reputation.”
As far as Del Bosque is concerned, the wage gap between what Manchester City and RFEF [Spanish Football Federation] could end up being the reason why the ex-Barcelona coach never trains Spain.
“This [huge salary deficit compared to what Guardiola is earning] is a big deal for people accustomed to making lots of money,” he added.
The ex-Real Madrid player and coach also assured that he’ll take it easy and enjoy his retirement.
