It has been reported that the North London outfit Arsenal manager Unai Emery is not ready to give up on Valencia goalkeeper Neto for his signature as a replacement for legendary stopper Petr Cech.
The former Chelsea stopper has announced his retirement from football and will have his last game for the North London outfit against Chelsea in the Europa League finals on Thursday.
While the summer transfer window is yet to be opened, it has been revealed that the Spanish manager is a big fan of the star stopper and has been mounting pressure on the club.
Plaza Deportiva via the Express reports that the Gunners boss made a trip to Valencia last week where he went to see his family and it was suggested that he had held talks with the goalkeeper.
It is claimed that the former PSG boss became convinced about the 29-year-old stopper after the two matches against the keeper in the Europa League semi-finals.
However, an initial contact has already been made following reports that the Gunners have made contact with the Brazilian’s representatives on the move.
Neto has been reported to have a release clause of £70 million but Arsenal have been tipped to land him for a more affordable fee of £37 million.
