According to media reports, Liverpool are set to sign Hull City left back Andy Robertson after agreeing on a transfer fee of around £10 million for the Scotland international on Wednesday.
The 23-year-old defender left Hull’s warm weather pre-season training camp in Portugal to have a medical with Liverpool on Thursday.
The deal is expected to be about £8 million up front, followed by £2 million in bonuses.
He has been key for Hull since joining from Dundee United back in 2014 in a £2.8 million transfer fee, playing 112 matches for the club.
Robertson, who has played 15 games for Scotland, will become Jurgen Klopp’s third signing this summer, following the signing of Dominic Solanke from Chelsea and Egyptian Mohamed Salah.
The Scotsman also reported that Robertson will undergo a medical at Liverpool on Thursday ahead of a £10million transfer from Hull City.
It means his former club Dundee United are set to receive around £800,000 thanks to a sell-on clause included into the deal which saw the left back join the Tigers back in 2014 for a fee of about £2.8million.
According to sources, a handful of Premier League clubs were chasing the defender, including Dutch Eredivisie giants PSV Eindhoven and Portuguese giant Sporting Lisbon.
He fits the bill for the Merseysiders, who are seeking to sign a new left-back rather than play England star James Milner there next season.
